Charge Changed for Woman Involved in Chase

Tyler County authorities have changed the charge for a woman who led them on a chase through several towns Monday.

Forty year old Gabrielle Bains is now charged with interfering with duties of a public servant. Deputies at first charged her with evading arrest, but now feel the new charge better fits her crime.

Bains refused to quarantine her dogs Monday after one of them bit several people. Officers confronted her in Rockland and told her to take the dogs to animal control in Woodville. Bains agreed, but sped off all the way to Angelina County with deputies following. They eventually caught up with her.

Angelina County Animal Control officers took the dogs in. Bains' bond is set at $500.
