Doctors are Worried About Heat-Related Illnesses

by Ramonica R. Jones

Temperatures around East Texas have hit triple digits many times in recent days. Heat-related illnesses are now becoming a concern for doctors.

An increase in body temperature, strange behavior, and rapid breathing are three warning signs to look for if you have been in the heat for a long time.

Fever, cramping, and weakness are all indicators of heat exhaustion. This can lead to heat stroke if left untreated.

Elderly, disabled, obese, and very young people are more likely to get sick from the heat.
