Woman Involved in Shootout Sentenced

A judge Friday sentenced an East Texas woman involved in a shootout with Huntington police last year. Sabrina Canda will spend the next ten years on probation.

Canda pleaded guilty to aggravated assault of a peace officer back in June. She was the last of three suspects in the case to go before a judge.

Canda, along with Steven Wilson and her husband, Tanner Hole, shot at a police officer who tried to perform a routine traffic stop on Highway 69 last August. The three refused to stop and led authorities on a chase through town.

A judge ordered Canda to stay away from Hole and his immediate family.

Wilson also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 35 years behind bars. Hole received a 25-year-sentence after a short trial.
