Ellen Trout Zoo Employees In Shock Over Crocodile Hunter's Death

Many employees at the Ellen Trout Zoo in Lufkin were shocked to hear about the death of Crocodile hunter Steve Irwin.

The famous Australian was killed Monday after being attacked by a stingray off the Australian coast.

One zoo employee came in on her day off to touch base with her associates and make sure everyone at the zoo was okay.

Steve Irwin's death is having an emotional impact on zoos worldwide because of his efforts to further animal awareness.

Irwin helped introduce wildlife preservation to a whole new generation.

"Many people know about animals today, or some of the animals that he dealt with, because of him and I think that it will be a lot different without him out there promoting and doing all the things that he did to make people conscious and aware of wildlife conservation," says Gordon Henly, Director of Ellen Trout Zoo.
