City Preparedness

Changes took place all over the nation after September 11th.  And those changes trickled down to our local departments, including the city, police, and fire.

Administrators say they took every precaution they could to ensure safety, and continue to make more changes.

Fire Chief Pete Pruitt, of Lufkin, said, "We got a bio-terrorism test kit, we can now test for anthrax, plague, ricin and botulism."

Since the attacks, local departments have received more grants.
