The Cost of Fuel is Dropping Statewide

This is the sixth week in a row of falling gasoline prices in Texas. The cost of regular self-serve gas is down 12 cents per gallon from last week statewide. That means drivers are paying less for fuel in Texas than at the same time last year.

Plummeting prices at the pump are being linked to a calmer hurricane season.

Right now, Texas gas is cheapest in Corpus Christi at $2.39 per gallon. The most expensive fuel is in El Paso at $2.74 per gallon.

The average cost for regular unleaded fuel in Texas is now $2.57 a gallon. The national average is $2.70 per gallon.
