Preliminary numbers indicate fall enrollment at Angelina College in Lufkin is down compared to Fall 2005.
Early figures show 4,725 students are enrolled at A.C. this fall. That's down by 31 students from the same time last year.
Administrators said there may be several reasons for the drop. The economy and high gas prices are two of the main obstacles some students face in college.
Admissions Dean Patricia McKenzie said, "Our continuing student numbers are down a little bit and that may be because they met their goal, and even though we attempted to invite them to continue, they were ready to exit at that point."
