Forest Festival Helps Less Fortunate East Texans

by Ramonica R. Jones

The first night of the 22nd annual Texas State Forest Festival in Lufkin was a success. Wednesday night was KTRE Night At the forest festival. Anyone who brought three canned goods to the festival got a $5 discount off their carnival arm band.

The East Texas News team collected close to a thousand canned food items. All the canned goods will go to several charitable organizations including Buckner Family Place, the Christian Information Service Center, and Love, Inc. in Lufkin.

The Forest Festival continues through the weekend at the expo center.
