East Texas Students Meet at the Pole

Some East Texas students gathered on their campuses early Wednesday morning for prayer.   It was part of what is called 'See You at the Pole'.

Lufkin High School students were among those surrounding a flag pole before classes started to pray. The program included music, scripture readings, and poems.

School faculty and parents also attend 'See You at the Pole' events each year.

Derrick Malnar-Cooper said, "It's a wonderful thing that we live in a country where we can come and do this freely. People actually change by just seeing us."

'See You at the Pole' is held on the same day each year at schools across the country.
