Presentation Kicks Off Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Post-menopausal breast health was the focus of a meeting Tuesday in Lufkin. The presentation kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Women learned about prevention, examining themselves, what to do if they find a mass, and warning signs of breast cancer before and after menopause.

The average woman has a one in eight chance of getting breast cancer, that's why early detection is key to survival.

The luncheon was part of Woodland Heights' monthly 'Red Hot Mamas' series on educating women about menopause.
