A Lufkin woman is trying to turn a year of tragedy into something good. She entered a nationwide essay contest. Now, she is one of ten finalists and needs your help.
Lisa Reid entered a contest sponsored by Kohl's Department Store where you write about a life changing experience. Her essay was selected from 5-thousand entries. She says she wrote about the support she received from the community and the experience itself.
Reid said, "Last year, I had a baby who is a major blessing, he's a sweet little guy. The night I came home from the hospital my house burned down, and I wrote about running out of the house with my baby in my arms and my husband and my mother-in-law."
To win the essay Reid must get voters to cast their vote. All you have to do is go to www.transformationnation.com Voting begins October 4th and goes through October 10th. If she wins, she will receive a trip to Paris and a $10-thousand shopping spree.
