Longhorns guard Dockery out for season with torn ACL
AUSTIN (AP) _ U-T starting guard Cedric Dockery will miss the
rest of the season after tearing the A-C-L in his right knee.
Dockery will have to undergo reconstructive knee surgery to
repair the damage. He suffered the injury last week in the
Longhorns' 28-to-10 win against Oklahoma.
Dockery played in nine games as a backup guard during last
season's national championship run. This season, he started in all
six games for an offense that is ranked sixth nationally in scoring
and 19th in rushing.
Dockery says he will continue to support his teammates and hopes
to be back in time for next season.
Texas plays at home against Baylor tomorrow and they might be
without three regular defensive starters. Safety Marcus Griffin,
cornerback Tarell Brown, and defensive tackle Frank Okam are all
questionable because of various injuries.
