Hundreds of Voters Voted Early on Day One

Early voting started Monday across the state. Angelina County residents are casting their votes in three locally-contested races.

Who should fill the positions of County Judge, County Court at Law, and County Commissioner Precinct 4 are all on the ballot, but elections officials believe the wet/dry issue is the reason for high voter turnout.

The voter line was long all day. Before 5:00 p.m. Monday, around 500 people showed up to vote.

So many voters showed up at the Courthouse Annex in Angelina County, sheriff's deputies were there to direct traffic so voters could get in and out as quickly as possible.
