HUNTSVILLE, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team defeated the Sam Houston State Bearkats, 3-0 (30-20, 30-18, 30-19), Tuesday night to remain perfect in Southland Conference play with a 10-0 record. It was the Ladyjacks¹ 16th straight victory this season, sending their overall record to 21-3 on the season. The Bearkats fell to 9-12 overall and 4-7 in SLC action.
Three Ladyjacks posted double-digit kllls with Lauren Railey and Traci Rohde leading the way with 15 apiece. Railey also threw in 16 digs for her 11th double-double of her sophomore campaign. Shelly Swendig contributed with 13 digs and only two errors in 30 attempts for a .367 hitting percentage.
Senior Stephanie Figgers collected 29 digs and Jami Hill notched 11 while JJ Jones put up 50 assists in the match.
SFA will return to the court on Friday evening to face Texas-San Antonio at
7 p.m. from the William R. Johnson Coliseum. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will then come to town for a 4 p.m. face off on Saturday. Saturday¹s match also marks the last time the 2006 senior class will play at home.
