Railroad Commissioner Talks to East Texans

High oil and gas prices continue to be a big burden for consumers, but there are ways to save money.

Friday, a Lufkin audience got some expert advice. They learned using alternative resources can be one way to cut these expenses and save natural resources.

State Railroad Commissioner, Michael Williams, said, "The best way to solve gasoline prices or electricity prices is to make sure you have increased demand of energy, and that's why it's so extremely important that we get every molecule of crude out of the ground, but that we also relieve the pressure on crude by making sure that we can move alternative transportation liquids."

Williams is a former federal prosecutor and the first African-American elected to an executive statewide post in Texas.
