Several problems were reported on election day in Angelina County. Some of them had to do with the new electronic voting machines, but several voters also complained about not getting the chance to vote.
The East Texas News spoke with an Angelina County woman who said she got to Box 7 before 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, but said the doors at that location were locked and the elections judge there would not let her in to cast her ballot.
Elections Administrator Bill Shanklin said electronic voting machines cannot be turned off before 7:00 p.m. because it is not possible. He plans to talk to the elections judge at Box 7 to find out what happened.
