One day after Angelina County voters approved retail alcohol sales, a meeting to help business owners apply for liquor licenses was standing room only. In fact, so many people showed up, the group had to be moved to the city hall auditorium.
An agent from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission handed out a list of dos and don'ts when applying for a license to sell adult beverages. He also talked about the different ways to obtain a liquor license.
A Lufkin cafe that recently shut down will soon reopen because of the new business alcohol sales are expected to bring in. The First Street Cafe Downtown is expected to re-open before Thanksgiving.
