Lufkin Police Report - 11/09/06

BURGLARY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE:  2000 block of S. John Redditt Dr.  A car was broken into Wednesday evening and the stereo and a flashlight were stolen.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  Lane St.  Firemen saw a man dump two mattresses and an old tire in the creek off Lane St.  The suspect left before police arrived.

WELFARE CONCERN:  300 Bynum St. (Parkwood Place Nursing Home).  A family member reports that an adult female in a nursing home is being abused by her husband.  The family member believes the husband is intentionally trying to harm the woman by performing rough personal care and force-feeding the victim, who is unable to care for herself.

BURGLARY OF A HABITATION:  100 block of Hubbard.  A man reported that his brother-in-law broke into his home on Oct. 31 and stole numerous DVD movies and some checks.  The suspect reportedly has forged two of the checks as well.

THEFT / A:  112 First St.  A computer, a heater, and a ladder were taken from a business back in May or June.

THEFT / B:  4505 Medford.  A woman reported that her wallet was stolen from her shopping cart Tuesday morning while she was shopping.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  1400 block of Denman Ave.  A glass door was broken out overnight Tuesday.  It appears the glass was shot by a pellet gun.
