$2 Million Expansion Project Will Start Next Year

An East Texas library is about to undergo a major renovation project. The project will double the size of the library.

More than 7,000 square feet will be added to the T.L.L. Temple Memorial Library in Diboll. The library did a community-wide survey two years ago asking patrons what they wanted in a library. Those answers led to many of the planned improvements.

More than 15,000 people used the library last year.

Director Brenda Russell said, "We're real excited about this project. It's a dream come true for a lot of people and a lot of hard work has gone into it. We're just anxious to provide this much- needed space so we can provide more services and programs for our community."

The expansion will include a reading room dedicated to the late federal judge, John Hannah Jr., a Diboll native. The $2 million project will start next year.
