Wet/Dry Election Results are Official

It is now official. Retail alcohol sales will happen in Angelina County.

The county commissioners court canvassed and certified the votes from last week's wet/dry election.

On November 7th, Propositions 1 and 2 passed, making Angelina County wet for the first time in 70 years. Voters agreed beer and wine should be sold in stores and memberships should not be required to purchase alcohol in restaurants.

Many business owners have already started the application process with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

Beer and wine sales should start happening in 60 to 90 days.
