Couple Pleaded Guilty in Animal Cruelty Case

A Lufkin couple charged with animal abuse in East Texas has pleaded guilty. Some authorities are calling it the worst case of animal cruelty they've ever seen.

Brenda and Tyrone Davis pleaded guilty to cruelty to animals. A judge sentenced them to a year of probation and 80 hours of community service.

They also have to pay hundreds of dollars in fines and court costs and undergo a psychological evaluation and animal abuse counseling.

Tyrone Davis will also spend 30 days in jail.

Last summer, the Davises' dog had to be taken straight to a vet and put down after animal control picked it up. The animal was hungry, dehydrated, and covered in oozing sores.
