Colt Will Play

QB McCoy cleared to play against Texas A&M

AUSTIN, Texas (AP)  Texas coach Mack Brown has cleared freshman quarterback Colt McCoy to play Friday against Texas A-and-M. A stinger knocked McCoy out of the eleventh-ranked Longhorns' loss at Kansas State.

He hurt his neck and shoulder on a touchdown-scoring quarterback plunge in the first quarter of the 45-to-42 loss. So far, he has a school-record 27 touchdown passes for the Longhorns, who are nine-and-two overall and six-and-one in Big 12 play.

They must win Friday to nail down a berth in the Big 12 championship game.

Meanwhile, Brown says offensive lineman Justin Blalock, who has started 49 consecutive games, also has been cleared to play against the Aggies. Blalock left the Kansas State game in the third quarter with a knee injury.
