13 year old Kyle Alexander Aldridge known to his friends at Apple Springs Jr. High as Alex was a football fanatic. "He played jr. High football for the first time this year. He was so exited and we were happy," says Alex's cousin Brittany Ehrhardt.

Brittany Ehrhardt tells us her cousin was good at football and she remembers his outgoing personality. "He was very very generous. He was a good kid, he was happy and he loved his family so much and he was always so concerned and willing to help others. If he saw a kid getting pick on at school he would take up for him," says Ehrhardt.

Authorities say Alex accidentally shot himself with a rifle Tuesday morning. Paramedics rushed Alex to Memorial Hospital where he underwent surgery for several hours, but Wednesday morning the family received the news no family wants to get, they would never see Alex alive again. "I'm pretty heartbroken. It's just really sad knowing we won't be able to see him on the holidays or see him play football anymore," says Ehrhardt.

A fund is set up at Angelina Federal Employees Credit Union to help with funeral expenses.
