Lufkin Police Report - 11/27/06

BURGLARY OF A BUILDING:  1701 W. Frank St. (Advanced Auto Parts).  Sometime during the early morning hours Monday, a window was broken out at Advanced Auto Parts and three battery booster/air compressor combos were stolen.

HARASSMENT:  300 block of E. Shepherd Ave.  A woman reported receiving threatening messages from her estranged husband on her cell phone voice mail.

ASSAULT:  2214 S. First St. (Taco Bell).  A Taco Bell employee was treated at a local hospital for second degree burns to his neck and back after a fellow employee threw hot water on him Sunday evening.  The man said he had been teasing a female employee and threw a piece of taco meat at her as a joke.  The woman claimed the meat was hot and burned her so she threw hot water on the man.  The woman had no visible injuries.  The investigation has been turned over to detectives.

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE:  1900 block of S. First St.  A witness reported seeing a white male wearing khaki shorts and a red and white striped shirt breaking into a vehicle at a restaurant Monday evening.  The vehicle's owner reported a window was broken out and stereo equipment stolen.  The witness said the suspect fled towards the Azalea Trail behind Café Del Rio.

BURGLARY:  4400 block of S. First St.  Binoculars were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a motel Saturday night.

BURGLARY:  1300 block of Tom Temple Dr.  A dump truck and a track hoe were broken into at a construction site during the past two weeks.  A stereo was stolen from the dump truck and nothing was missing from the track hoe.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  4300 block of S. First St.  A man reported his car window broken out sometime Saturday night.  Nothing was taken from the vehicle.
