During the night of Friday, November 23, 2007, thieves struck at Southern Chrysler Plymouth Dodge on the east Loop in Lufkin. They struck the fenced-in service area at the dealership and broke into over a dozen vehicles.
Each vehicle had a window broken out -- even some that had been left unlocked. The thieves only took five stereos out of the 13 cars they broke into. These were all factory stereos, which have a very low resale value.
Car burglaries are a real problem in Lufkin. They happen every day. Even a fence with barbed wire on top couldn't stop these thieves, but a jail cell could sure keep them from breaking into any more cars. Help us show them that crime doesn't pay, but Crime Stoppers does.
If you have any information on these car burglaries, call Crime Stoppers at 639-TIPS. You never have to give your name, and we're offering a cash reward of up to $1000 for information that leads to an arrest in these crimes.
