Emergency Contraception Available at Planned Parenthood

Wednesday is free Emergency Contraception day at Planned Parenthood in Lufkin. Starting at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, the clinic will be giving away the morning after pill to men and women over 18 at no cost, while supplies last.

Emergency Contraception is a safe, effective back-up method of birth control. It can significantly lower the risk of pregnancy when taken within 120 hours of unprotected sex.

Women will be able to pick up the morning after pill and place it in their medicine cabinet. In cases of rape, incest, or a forgotten birth control pill, Emergency Contraception can be used for pregnancy prevention.
