Lufkin High School Evacuated

From the East Texas Newsroom....

The all clear has been given at Lufkin High School after a bomb threat about 8:30 Wednesday morning. School officials say someone called the main line to the school to report a bomb threat, which turned out to be a prank.

School officials evacuated the building and contacted authorities, who did two sweeps of the building. No evidence of a bomb was found. The building was released back to school officials and students were returned to class.

Brenda Hill, Associate Superindent for LISD, says details of the prank call are not being released. However, LISD is offering a substantial reward through Crime Stoppers for anyone providing information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible. Tips can be made anoyomously through the campus program or regular Crime Stoppers at 639-TIPS. Look for more on this story on the East Texas News and on ktre.com...
