Lufkin Police Report - 12/08/06

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  3000 block of S. First St.  A woman reported that her car was "keyed" around 2a.m. by two women that she has been having problems with.

BURGLARY OF A COIN-OPERATED DEVICE:  1300 block of Abney St.  Officers responding to an active alarm around 3 a.m. discovered that a change machine had been damaged by someone attempting to pry it open.  The suspect(s) were not successful in accessing the money in the machine, which sustained extensive damage.

BURGLARY OF A BUILDING:  305 S. Timberland Dr. (Lindo Mexico Taqueria).  Officers responding to a burglar alarm at 12:54 a.m. found a window broken out on the Lindo Mexico Taqueria.  Unknown suspect(s) used a rock to break a window and stole a container of change before fleeing.

BURGLARY OF A HABITATION:  300 block of Magnolia St.  A residence was broken into sometime Wednesday or Thursday, and several bottles of wine and alcohol were stolen.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  200 block of Bowles St.  A woman reported that her car was scratched on the hood, sides, fender, and top, and profanities were scratched into the paint Thursday night.

BURGLARY:  1100 block of Dunlap St.  A washer and dryer were stolen from a vacant house Thursday morning after the suspects gained entry by kicking the back door open.

FORGERY / COUNTERFEITING:  700 block of Southwood Dr.  A woman reported two checks forged and passed at a convenience store in late November and early December.

THEFT:  300 Mantooth Ave.  A 6-foot snow globe Christmas decoration was stolen sometime Wednesday night.
