They're going for it. Despite challenging weather conditions and some launch-pad delays, NASA managers have decided to try another launch attempt tonight.
Nasa spokesman Bruce Buckingham says, "The launch director just announced that we're going to make an attempt tonight."
That means crews have been given the go-ahead to fill discovery's external tank with a-half million gallons of fuel, preparing for a scheduled liftoff at 8:47 p-m, Eastern time. With low clouds, relatively high winds and rain in the forecast, the weather is still iffy. Meteorologists forecast conditions that are 70% unfavorable for a launch tonight.
The weather is not expected to get much better until Tuesday.
