Lufkin Police Report - 12/11/06

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  100 block of N. Timberland Dr.  A truck driver reported that the electrical junction box on his trailer was damaged sometime over the weekend while it was parked at a parking lot.

ASSAULT:
  400 block of Lazy Oaks.  A couple reported mutual assault Sunday afternoon as the man tried to move out of the apartment.  The woman claimed the man pushed her first and the man claimed the woman pushed him first.   Neither party had visible injuries.

ASSAULT:  700 block of Schuller.  A man reported that his girlfriend tried to cut him with a kitchen knife.  The girlfriend reported that the boyfriend hit her several times and pushed her down and that she never pulled a knife.  Neither party was injured and the case was referred to detectives.

THEFT:  1800 block of Cypress St.  A woman reported cash missing from her purse after having a guest over Sunday morning.

THEFT:  1910 N. Timberland Dr. (Polk's Pick-It-Up).  A man walked into the Polk's store at 11:15 a.m. Sunday and reached over the counter and opened the cash register, took the money from the register, and fled.  The man never said anything and never threatened the cashiers in any way.

BURGLARY OF A BUILDING:  500 block of S. Chestnut Dr.  Officers found a gumball machine near the business and discovered a broken glass door.  The owner was contacted and it was determined that someone broke the glass door sometime Saturday night and stole the gumball machine from inside the business.
