by Ramonica R. Jones Friday was graduation day for 43 inmates at the Diboll Correctional Center. The prisoners earned either a GED or completed training in a vocational program. Three students even earned dual certificates this semester. Friday's graduation ceremony covered July through December. The inmates received certification in construction, carpentry, and several other areas. Brent Smith said, "I did not know much about plants when I went into landscape design. Now I realize there is a lot of stuff involved. The teachers are real professional and it broadened my horizons." Any inmate that does not have a high school diploma qualifies for the education program at the Diboll Correctional Center.
