Garrison's Pinckard Resigns

Garrison Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Ritchie Pinckard has resigned.  Pinckard was promoted from assistant to head coach in 2005 where he led the Bulldogs four rounds deep into the playoffs.

This season Garrison struggled in perhaps the toughest 2A district in the state, finishing 2 and 7.  Pinckard says the decision was best for his family and he leaves on his own terms.

Pinckard took over the reigns of the Garrison football program after Jimmy Thompson resigned to take over the Cleveland High School program in 2004.

Pinckard was an assistant for Thompson at Garrison since 2000.

Garrison I.S.D. supt. Arnie Kelley said "Ritchie will be missed, and he will not have any problems finding another opportunity. Pinckard knows how to coach."
