Dempsey To Training Camp

Bradley makes his first picks

CHICAGO (AP) Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey and Taylor Twellman highlight a mostly inexperienced group of 29 players interim U-S soccer coach Bob Bradley has selected for his first training camp.

Defender Heath Pearce, who plays professionally in Denmark, is the only European-based player selected for the camp, which opens January fourth in Carson, California.

The Americans meet Denmark 16 days later at Carson in their first game since the World Cup, then play Mexico on February seventh at Glendale, Arizona.

Twenty-two players have five or fewer appearances for the national team, including ten who have never appeared. Bradley has been told he will coach the team through May, but has no guarantees he will keep the job beyond that.
