Lawyer: Couple Whose Baby's Toes Were Gnawed Off By Family Pet Agree To Plea Deal

The Louisiana couple jailed after a family pet gnawed off four of their baby's toes has reached a plea deal with prosecutors.

Their attorney says Mary and Christopher Hansche will plead guilty to improper child supervision. They'll do some community service, attend parenting classes, and give up their pet pit bull and ferret.

The couple's month-old girl was injured December tenth as they slept. The husband blamed the dog but the wife blamed the ferret.

They still could face up to six months in jail. A hearing is scheduled for January third. The judge will also determine custody for the baby, who is being cared for by a grandparent.
