Lufkin Police Report - 01/02/07

BURGLARY OF A HABITATION:  1800 block of Sayers St.  A woman awoke to find a man standing in her home just before 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.  The man left quickly and the woman found that her purse was missing.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  500 block of Charlton St.  A brick was thrown through a car window sometime Monday night.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  2900 block of S. John Redditt Dr.   A woman caught her boyfriend at another woman's home early Tuesday morning and hit his car windshield with a brick in an unsuccessful attempt to break the windshield.  The man reported that she also lunged at him while holding the brick, making him think she was trying to hit him with it.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE:  2900 block of Freeman St.  A woman reported that she was awakened by the sound of her Jeep Cherokee being cranked outside her bedroom window just before 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.  The maroon SUV was gone when the woman looked out the window.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  400 block of Arizona St.  A bullet hole was found in the trunk lid of a car on New Year 's Day.  The bullet was possibly fired into the air by someone in the area as a New Year's celebration.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE:  500 block of Dogwood.   A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend took her car without permission Sunday night and got it stuck in a ditch in Central.  The car has been recovered.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  1000 block of Ralph St. A man reported that his phone line was pulled from the outside box at his home after several people came over looking for his son's girlfriend over a previous disturbance.

BURGLARY OF A HABITATION:  100 block of Gayle St.  A shotgun and a .22 rifle were stolen from a residence during a burglary sometime Sunday night.

THEFT:  1000 block of S. John Redditt Dr.  A man picked up two 30-packs of beer and ran from the convenience store Monday morning
