Lufkin Industries Lays Off 30 Employees

Friday afternoon, Lufkin Industries laid off 30 employees in its van trailer division. The company cites the expansion of its oil field business as a reason for the layoffs.

Nearly 400 employees worked in the van trailer division, but the company retrained most of them to take other assignments within Lufkin Industries. Company Spokesman Paul Perez says, despite the layoffs, the company is growing.
