Proud Of East Texas: Bill Schroeder

After retiring from a career as a Metalurgical Engineer, Bill Schroeder of Longview was endulging his life-long dream of becoming a water colorist. Just as he was beginning to make a name as an artist in 1992, a massive brain hemorrhage ended his career.

Ten years later, Schroeder bought a 20-year-old Minolta X700 35 millimeter camera at an estate sale and began taking pictures. The photos sold quickly and Schroeder found he had a new career.

There's something special about Schroeder's photography, which one client describes as "God Anointed".  Schroeder says it's more like hearing a symphony and enabling others to hear it too, something which would probably have never happened if not for his brush with death.
