Man Sentenced in Armed Robbery Case

A Lufkin judge has sentenced an East Texas man to 25 years in prison in connection with an armed robbery. He entered a guilty plea just hours before his trial was set to begin.

The trial for Donald McDowell was scheduled for Thursday. Instead, McDowell pleaded guilty Wednesday to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

McDowell had a gun when he robbed a Polk's Pick-it-Up convenience store on South First Street in Lufkin.
