Charles Campbell joined the Marine Corps in 1942 at the age of seventeen.
After being wounded in a training accident, Campbell saw action on Okinowa and in China. He returned home in 1946, but found he didn't like civilian life. So, he joined the Army and served in the military for a total of twenty four years.
Campbell was in the military police during both the Korean War and the war in Vietnam, seeing front line duty in both. After his retirement from the military, Campbell served in the Tyler Junior College Campus Police for fifteen years.
