Nacogdoches Police Report - 01/16/07

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE:  500 block of Tangleberry.  Unknown suspect forced entry into a vehicle and removed a purse.

BURGLARY OF A HABITATION:  800 block of Ola Alley. Complainant reported suspects inside his home. Officers located suspect and arrested Gary Griffin for burglary.

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE:  600 block of Inwood.  Between Wednesday night and Thursday, unknown suspect forced entry into a vehicle and removed hand tools, a drill, and a small amount of change.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  300 block of Pitman St.  A vehicle was damaged with a brick in an attempt to burglarize it.

FAILURE TO IDENTIFY:  2100 block of W. Austin St.  A juvenile suspect was stopped for a traffic violation. He gave officer a false name. After being properly identified, he was arrested.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA:  500 block of Lenwood.  Officers contacted two juvenile males in Pioneer Park. Officers smelled burning marijuana. Both suspects were found in possession of marijuana and were arrested.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT:  1500 block of W. Main St.  Officers were dispatched to the area in reference to shots fired. Officers located several spent shell casings from a rifle in the roadway. No one reported injured, nor was there any reported damage from the gunshots.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ON A PEACE OFFICER / PUBLIC INTOXICATION:  400 block of Lake St. Officer observed a subject sitting in a vehicle. Officer contacted suspect and found him to be intoxicated. The suspect attempted to strike the officer and a struggle ensued. He was taken into custody. Juan Lara arrested.

ASSAULT:  2800 block of Pearl St.  A known suspect reportedly assaulted his girlfriend by choking her during a disturbance. A warrant was requested.

GRAFFITI:  700 block of E. Main St.  Several locations in the 500-700 blocks of E. Main St. were painted with spray paint.

ASSAULT:  100 block of S.E. Stallings Dr.  A male and female got into an argument where they assaulted each other. Arthur Burch and Desra Burch were arrested.

DEADLY CONDUCT / RESISTING ARREST:  300 block of South St.  Suspect became angry with another driver and displayed his double-barrel shotgun. Suspect also resisted when officers attempted to arrest him. Advanced taser was utilized to arrest suspect. Donald Kissner was arrested.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA:  900 block of MLK.  Officers were dispatched to an intoxicated person call. Officers contacted suspect and found him to be in possession of an amount of suspected marijuana.

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE:  1200 block of Ferguson St.  A window was broken out of vehicle with a rock. Complainant's purse was stolen.

INTERFERENCE WITH 911 CALL / ASSAULT:  500 block of Townsend Ave.  Two females were involved in a disturbance. One assaulted the other. The suspect then pulled the phone line out of the wall when victim attempted to call 911. Martha Blair was arrested.

IDENTITY THEFT:  1000 block of Shepard.  Complainant's identity was used by another while working out of state.

FORGERY:  1500 block of S. Fredonia St.  Unknown persons cashed a social security check that complainant had reported as lost.

ASSAULT:  900 block of MLK.  Suspect scratched the victim's face and kicked him in the groin during a disturbance. Andrea Cruz was arrested.

ASSAULT:  400 block of Mockingbird.  A known suspect assaulted a female victim during a disturbance while driving in a car. Victim got out of the car and called the police. Warrant requested.

THEFT:  200 block of E. Starr Ave.  A red and white mountain bike was reported stolen.

THEFT:  3228 North St.  Complainant reported that the cash receipts for the day was $100.00 short. Investigation underway.

BURGLARY OF A BUILDING / POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA:  100 block of Beall St.  Store left unsecured and suspect entered and stole some cigarettes and beer. Suspect was located and also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Karl Vernon Hollis was arrested.

THEFT:  North St.. Suspects went to several locations on North St. attempting to shortchange the clerks. Officers located the suspects and arrested them. Randall Martin and Zenda Mitchell were arrested.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA / POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE:  5100 block of North St.  An officer was dispatched to a suspicious person call. The officer contacted the suspect and found him to be in possession of suspected marijuana and crack cocaine. Frederick Perry of Longview was arrested.
