The bad weather has caused about 300 TXU households around East Texas to lose electricity overnight. But, by Tuesday morning, with the exception of two households--one in Lufkin and one in Nacogdoches-- everything else was back up and running.
Power crews were out early Tuesday morning fixing the problems caused by last night's icy weather. TXU officials say ice on trees caused limbs to fall and destroy power lines. They remind you to always stay always from downed powerlines and make sure you contact your power provider if you have an outage.
By comparison, about 136,000 people are left without power after an ice storm struck Michigan overnight. Residents and businesses there are struggling to keep up and running, with the lights off. Power crews are working overtime to try and restore power to customers across the state and in other parts of the nation.
