Drivers Could Still Be Penalized for Weather-Related Wrecks

Dozens of car accidents over the past couple days around East Texas have been blamed on icy roads. If you get into a weather-related crash, it will probably have an impact on your insurance rates, even if it's not entirely your fault. It's a question you should ask your insurance agent before buying a new policy.

John Toole, owner of Toole Insurance Agency, said, "All insurance companies look at territories differently. There's a lot of factors that go into that, but they look at it on an individual basis and at the time of renewal, they'll look at your policy. If you've had a lot of claims, then there's gonna be some changes."
