Lufkin Police Report - 01/19/07

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  200 block of Kirksey St.  A man reported his car windows were broken out early Friday morning while the car was unattended in a parking lot.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT:  Leach St.  A man reported that he was hit in the eye with some type of projectile as he walked on MLK Dr. near Kurth around 8:40 Wednesday night.  The man said an orange sports car with white racing stripes drove by and the passenger pointed something out the window and the victim was hit in the eye with something.  The victim initially thought he had been shot with a gun, but that does not appear to be the case.  He may have been shot with a paintball or air gun.  The victim was taken to the hospital, but the extent of his injury was not known at the time of the report.

WELFARE CONCERN:  1200 block of Frank St.  A 15-year-old girl was found to be pregnant and she named a 19-year-old male as the father of the unborn child.

THEFT OF SERVICE:  800 block of N. Medford Dr.  A known suspect rented a car in December and has not returned it yet.  The rental period ended January 4th.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE:  1300 block of N. Timberland Dr.  A car dealer reported that a man took truck with a promise to pay and has never paid anything on it.  The man took the truck last August.

BURGLARY:  900 block of Timberland Dr.  A business was broken into sometime Wednesday night and cash was stolen from the register.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  100 block of McHale St.  A man reported that the back window of his car was shot with a paintball Wednesday night.
