Remembering Columbia

Saturday members of the Nacogdoches Amateur Radio Club remembered a tragic day when they assisted state and federal officials during the Columbia Space Shuttle tragedy.   "Because of the activity the crash site covered so much of east Texas. Ham operators were ask to provide communications for all of the folk that came out to work it," say John Chapman.

Nacogdoches Amateur Radio Club President John Chapman says recovery efforts kept ham radio operators busy, but it also attracted some new members.

Chapman says they are always looking for new members.
