It was a busy signing day in East Texas. Especially at Lufkin, where ten Panthers signed on to play college football.
As expected wide receiver Dez Bryant signed with Oklahoma State. Bryant expects to make an immediate impact with the Cowboys, but says football wasn't the reason for his move to Stillwater.
"I already knew that I could play football and everything like that," Bryant says. "I was trying to see which school is going to help me the best. And Oklahoma State had it all. They help me with my academics. It's like they refuse to let their players fail."
Bryant's teammate A.J. Penson signed with North Texas. Penson joins former Southlake Carroll Head Coach Todd Dodge. Penson says if you can't beat him, join him.
"I've played against him before. He beat us, he's had success against us. But we're a great team, I know that. And I know we have good coaches and stuff and so I really thought that it would be a good fit for me."
Lufkin quarterback Jeremy Claybon and kicker Jaime Fernandez signed with Stephen F. Austin. Claybon will stay at quarterback with the Lumberjacks.
