Nacogdoches Police Report - 02/02/07

GRAFFITI:  621 Harris St. (Nacogdoches Senior Center).  Unknown persons spray-painted graffiti on the wall of the senior center.

GRAFFITI:  600 block of Harris St. Unknown persons spray-painted a sign on the property.

IDENTITY THEFT:  500 block of Houston St. A person's identity was used to gain a credit card and open several accounts.

BURGLARY OF A BUILDING:  700 block of North Mound St.  A building was entered and several games, an X-Box, and four controllers were taken.

GRAFFITI:  1216 South St. (Southgate).  Unknown suspects spray-painted graffiti on the buildings of Brookshire Brothers, the Women's Shelter Thrift Store, Family Dollar, Universal Cleaners, and Sun Mart.

DEBIT CARD ABUSE:  500 block of North St. Complainant's debit card was used in Mexico without permission.

THEFT:  4000 block of South St. Unknown persons stole a 45' gooseneck trailer from a parking lot.

GRAFFITI:  100 block of Greenwood St.  Unknown persons carved obscenities on the complainant's residence.

DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE:  1300 block of South St.  Suspect vehicle was stopped for traffic violation. Suspect's driver's license was found to be suspended. Noe Olivera was arrested.

BURGLARY OF A BUILDING:  4900 block of Old Lufkin Rd.  Complainant reported that an air conditioner unit, water heater, stove, refrigerator, carpet, and wiring was removed from an unoccupied residence.

CREDIT CARD ABUSE:  200 block of NW Stallings Dr.  A known suspect has made several unauthorized charges to a charge account over the past months.

FURNISHING ALCOHOL TO A MINOR:  1200 block of North St.  Officer observed suspect purchase alcohol and provide it to a minor inside a vehicle. Christopher Alvarez was arrested.

EVADING ARREST:  800 block of Second St.  Officer attempted to make a traffic stop and the vehicle fled. After a short pursuit, the vehicle stopped and the suspect fled on foot. Under investigation.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE / FAILURE TO IDENTIFY:  4601 North St. (Sports Shack)  Officers were called to the Sports Shack where the suspect was attempting to push his way into the club.  The suspect was attempting to conceal and destroy suspected crack cocaine, which was recovered. The suspect refused to identify himself. He was later identified by jail staff as Byron Deckard. He was arrested.

FAILURE TO IDENTIFY / POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA:  100 block of W. Smith St.  Officer stopped vehicle on a traffic stop and the driver gave a fictitious name. She was later identified as Phyllis Deckard and found to have outstanding warrants and a usable quantity of suspected marijuana. She was arrested.

DWI / RACING:  1500 block of North St.  Officers observed two vehicles stopped for the traffic light at North and Starr. When the light changed, the vehicles began racing southbound on North St. Both vehicles were stopped. The drivers were identified as Matthew Yanez and Miles Stelly. Both were arrested for racing. Yanez was suspected of being intoxicated and was also charged with DWI.
