Two Towns Will Vote on Alcohol Sales... Again

Two Angelina County towns will once again debate the wet/dry issue. Residents of Zavalla and Hudson turned in petitions to stop alcohol sales in their communities. All the signatures on those petitions have been verified by the elections administrator.

Registered voters in those areas will vote on allowing retail beer and wine sales during the May 12th general election.

If Zavalla and Hudson residents agree to stop beer and wine sales, that decision goes into affect immediately. If they agree to continue alcohol sales, they'll have to wait two years before getting another wet/dry election.

Diboll and Huntington residents are also circulating a petition to ban alcohol sales in their towns.
