Lufkin Police Report - 02/06/07

THEFT:  1700 block of W. Frank Ave.  A man reported that he gave a co-worker $400 to hold for him at work a month ago.  The next day that co-worker told him he was never given any money to hold.

THEFT:  407 N. Brentwood Dr. (Sam's Club)  An employee took a camera and an iPod from the store and later returned them for a refund.  That same employee is the one who brought the theft to the attention of management when he confessed and gave the refund back.

THEFT:  2600 block of S. First St.  A digital camera was reported stolen from a residence.

FORGERY / COUNTERFEITING:  800 block of N. John Redditt Dr.  Unauthorized charges to a bank account were reported.  Several on-line purchases were made using electronic withdrawals that were not authorized by the account holder

THEFT:  2500 Daniel McCall Dr. (Wal-Mart)  A woman left her cell phone at the cash register around 10 p.m. Sunday night and left the store.  She realized within minutes that she had left her phone and went back inside and the phone was gone.

THEFT:  2100 block of Nile St.  A woman reported that the father of her child changed the mailing address of the child's Social Security check and cashed it without permission.

THEFT:  2500 Daniel McCall Dr. (Wal-Mart)  A woman reported several checks had been stolen from her home and three of them were forged and passed at Wal-Mart in late January.
