Lufkin Police Report - 02/09/07

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  1911 S. First St. (Sports Shack)  A man reported that he was attacked by another man at Sports Shack Thursday night.  The man wasn't injured in the attack, but he was thrown onto the hood of his truck, causing damage to the truck.

BURGLARY OF A HABITATION:  500 block of S. Bynum St  A residence was broken into Thursday and a computer and printer were stolen.

BURGLARY:  400 block of Davis St.  A known suspect removed a number of household items from a storage building without permission from the owner Tuesday.

FORGERY / COUNTERFEITING:  2500 Daniel McCall Dr.  A man received several fraudulent moneygrams as payment for a motorcycle sold over the Internet.  The man took them to the store to see if they were real.  They weren't.  The man was suspicious of them because the buyer reported to be from Ohio but wanted the motorcycle shipped to Spain

THEFT:  3901 S. MEDFORD Dr. (Cheddars)  Internal fraud reported.  An employee was found to be making unauthorized charges on customer's credit cards without their knowledge

FRAUD:  4600 block of Daniel McCall Dr.  A woman reported that someone is accessing her cell phone account and changing the password on her voicemail.  It has happened more than once, and the victim believes someone is doing this to eavesdrop on her.

FORGERY / COUNTERFEITING:  S. John Redditt Dr.  A man reported that his adult son had stolen some of his checks and forged them.

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE:  700 block of Denman Ave.  Two unsecured vehicles were entered sometime Wednesday night and a stereo was stolen from one of them.

FORGERY / COUNTERFEITING:  200 block of S. FIRST St.  A business reported unauthorized electronic withdrawal of monies from their account.  This happened after the business owner responded to an apparently fraudulent e-mail asking them to update their bank account information over the Internet.
