Lufkin Police Report - 02/12/07

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE:  100 block of Temple Blvd.  Two unlocked vehicles were entered just before 1 a.m. Monday.  A couple had left their vehicles unsecured for about 20 minutes and came back out to find a man inside one of the cars.  The suspect fled on foot.  A radar detector, a portable stereo, and some CDs were stolen.

HARASSMENT:  1000 block of S. Medford Dr.  A known suspect has been calling the victim and leaving profanity-laced, insulting messages.

SEXUAL ASSAULT / RAPE:  A parent caught a pre-teen child (friend) naked with a younger child.  The victim stated the pre-teen male tried to have sex with the victim.  The victim was not injured.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE:  500 block of Montrose St.  A man borrowed his mother's truck and came home the next day without it.  The son told the mother that he had picked up two crack dealers, who made him get out, and they stole the truck.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  1300 block of Atkinson Dr.  A rock was thrown through a residential window sometime over the weekend

BURGLARY OF A HABITATION:  500 block of Trout St.  A window unit air conditioner was stolen from a house undergoing remodeling sometime during the past week.

BURGLARY OF A BUILDING:  1300 block of N. Timberland Dr.  A car lot office was burglarized Saturday night and a van was stolen.  The van had been driven Saturday night, but returned to the lot before the burglary was discovered.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS:  400 block of Holland St.  A known suspect was seen breaking into a car early Sunday morning.

DWI:  600 block of S. First St.  A man involved in a major auto accident Saturday night was suspected of being intoxicated.  Due to his injuries, he was not arrested, but a warrant will be obtained.
